Speaking to the National World website, Founder of Support Social Care Heroes Nicola Richards, explained the impact the recent Government policy on staff vaccinations is having on care workers:

We support the vaccination programme and would encourage everyone to get their jabs.

However, the decision to ban care workers who have not been jabbed from working puts even more pressure on existing staff and will make the skills crisis in care even worse.

The Government’s recruitment campaign only partly addresses the problems. We need to address longer term morale and wellbeing issues in the social care workforce.

We have launched Support Social Care Heroes to create a concerted effort to improve the wellbeing and support available to staff in the care sector.
